We're Building the Communities Shaping Northeast Florida

Capital Concrete & Masonry

After more than 2 decades of successfully building our concrete and masonry business and reputation in Jacksonville and St. Augustine, we're often asked what we've done to gain the trust of our partners and clients. People seem to be looking for the revelation of a deep secret to building their own businesses, but we don't really have one to offer. We simply do what we say we'll do, do it well, on time and on budget. It's that simple. We've worked hard and delivered, and our partners and clients have taken notice.

We also believe that what we do isn't simply construction, it's an art form, and we love growing in our craft. If you need something no one else can take on—a poured concrete spiral staircase, for instance—we're the ones you'll want to call. We take on the projects that require a little extra experience, creativity, and specialized skill.

Our reputation has been built on the integrity proven out in our work over years building homes in Northeast Florida, and we look forward to building on that reputation, helping build the future of our communities for years to come.

Our Team

President

Robert Carlton

Robert (Rob) Carlton is a third generation mason who began as a journeyman in his trade at the age of 15. He jumped headlong into the work that he loved, became a partner in a masonry business at the age of 19, and began to teach masonry shortly thereafter. Rob developed his skills over the years—winning masonry competitions along the way—and specialized in complicated masonry and concrete structures. He eventually co-founded Capital Concrete and has been building a reputation as a solutions company ever since, providing efficient answers for difficult, unique building needs through innovative tools and a highly trained team.

Rob’s career is marked by hard work fueled by excellence, integrity, and a desire to train others in his industry, producing the next generation of leaders and

innovators in the field. He has served as Chairman for the State Masonry Board and the Florida Concrete Masonry Education Council (FCMEC). He has also fought for important legislation in Florida, such as the Concrete Masonry Education Act (CMEA), by which Governor Rick Scott has appointed him as Board Member to help oversee how dollars are spent for education in and promotion of masonry. Rob is married with three daughters and enjoys taking aim at sporting clays, fishing, playing golf, or hunting in his down time.
